Inverness v Rangers: Match Preview
A difficult trip to Inverness awaits Rangers on Friday night, with this game being the last before the Old Firm.
League form must start picking up a bit for us if expectation is anything to go by. The win over Partick Thistle in the last outing should provide some momentum.
However, in previous games up there Inverness have proved to be hard opposition for Rangers.
Just a few weeks ago the Highland outfit took a point from Celtic, who until then had beaten all before them.
Rangers enter the Caledonian Stadium with 12 points from eight matches and only one away win in the league so far.
Richie Foran’s Inverness come up against us on the back of a five game unbeaten run.
Mark Warburton has already ruled Jordan Rossiter out of the game, despite the Liverpool youngster returning to training this week following a calf strain which has kept him out since August.
Josh Windass and Matt Crooks may be involved at some stage, which is good news as neither player has been seen anywhere near enough this season.
It’s pleasing to hear that the medical table is finally empty – but that does mean further selection headaches for the boss.
Barrie McKay is likely to start the game, although his form has been far from consistent this season.
Players like Michael O’Halloran and Harry Forrester who make regular appearances from the bench need more chances. Those chances have to arrive when others are out of form.
The centre-back partnership may change again for Friday night. Danny Wilson and Clint Hill did well beside each other earlier this season. However, Kiernan or Senderos is likely to get the nod for one place.
Andy Halliday is all but certain to start in the holding role but the two ahead of him are not so nailed on. Jason Holt should be on the team sheet as he is badly missed otherwise.

Joe Garner is yet to show he is worth his transfer fee so far. It is games like these that are ideal for him to start a good run.
Expect the usual possession game from Rangers throughout the game, as well as some interesting defending.
The starting lineup will be good enough on paper to win the game. Whether or not we take our chances is likely to decide the result.
With another Old Firm game just around the corner, a victory in the Highlands will do very nicely.
