Francis Jeffers - Summer 2005
The former Arsenal striker signed on loan from Charlton on a six-month loan deal.
Having cost the Gunners £8 million in 2001 he never quite lived up to that price tag.
Only scoring 5 goals the previous season in England, he arrived at Ibrox with a point to prove.
Jeffers made just 10 appearances in all competitions without scoring and returned to Charlton at the end of his loan spell.
Sasa Papac - Summer 2006
The Bosnian defender was the third transfer from Austria Vienna that summer by Paul Le Guen.
Initially signed as a centre-back, Papac would then move to left-back where he would remain for his stay at Ibrox.
A fan favourite at the club, Papac would make over 200 appearances in a light blue jersey before retiring in 2012.
Amdy Faye - Summer 2007
The holding midfielder would complete a loan move to Rangers on the morning of the 2007 deadline day.
Moving north from Charlton, manager Walter Smith had expected the Faye deal to be the last of the window. Cue, Naismith.
The Senegalese player would make five appearances for the club before returning to The Valley at the end of the season.
Steven Naismith - Summer 2007
Exactly ten years have passed since one of the most dramatic transfers in the club’s history.
Naismith would sign for Rangers from Kilmarnock in, literally, the last minutes of the transfer window in 2007.
After failing a few times, the ‘Gers would eventually land the striker in a £2 million deal.
Naismith would leave the club in 2012 following the club’s demotion to the Third Division. He made 132 appearances, scoring 33 goals.
Steven Davis - Winter 2008
Steven Davis would become a big hit at Ibrox following his switch from Fulham on the January deadline day in 2008.
Initially a loan deal, Davis would sign permanently for £3 million in the summer window. The Northern Irish international would go on to make 200 appearances at Ibrox.
Since leaving for Southampton in 2012, Davis remains a regular in the Premier League and has captained the south coast club.
Richard Foster - Summer 2010
The transfer of Foster was a loan deal which saw Andrius Velicka move in the opposite direction to Aberdeen.
The right-back would return to the club a few years later when Rangers were in the lower divisions but his first spell included Champions League football.
He would miss an open goal chance against Valencia in the group stage which would have seen the Light Blues win 2-1 against the Spanish giants.
David Templeton - Summer 2012
Hearts sold their winger David Templeton to Rangers the day after he scored for them at Anfield in the Europa League.
It was a high-profile signing for the ‘Gers who were then in the Third Division. Templeton agreed a four-year-deal, moving from Hearts where he had just a year left on his contract there.
Injury hampered Templeton’s time at Ibrox and Mark Warburton released the player at the end of his contract in 2016.
The Newcastle Five - Winter 2015
This happened when Rangers appeared to be heavily influenced by Newcastle owner Mike Ashley. The club signed five on loan from the Magpies on deadline day in February 2015.
Gael Bigirimana, Shane Ferguson, Kevin Mbabu, Remie Streete and Haris Vuckic made the trip north for the rest of the season.
Only Vuckic made an impact, however, making 22 appearances and scoring nine goals.
Streete and Ferguson played a handful of games between them but Bigirimana and Mbabu failed to make an appearance under then-manager Stuart McCall.
Phillipe Senderos - Summer 2016
Following a summer window where Mark Warburton chased a centre-half, Senderos agreed a deal at the last minute in 2016.
Joleon Lescott failed a medical earlier in the window and Senderos ended up looking like a panic signing.
He was sent off on his debut at Celtic Park last September and made just three more appearances before being released in May.
Declan John - Summer 2017
This transfer was announced earlier today.
The left-back joins the club for a year on loan from Cardiff City in the EFL Championship.
Cover, or perhaps competition, for Lee Wallace was needed in the squad and the Welsh international could be a good signing for Pedro Caixinha.
