# “One of our own” – A lot of Rangers fans are pleased with Scott Arfield’s perfromance

“One of our own” – A lot of Gers fans are pleased to see Scott Arfield continue his [good performances](https://www.sundaypost.com/fp/scott-arfield-dismisses-crystal-palace-speculation-and-insists-he-is-settled-at-rangers/)from last season.

Arfield scored Rangers’ [first goal](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49141676) of the SPFL season in a [2-1 win](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49141676) over Kilmarnock.

His goal came from [a corner](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49141676) that James Tavernier swung onto Nikola Katic’s head – his header was parried by [Laurentiu Branescu](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49141676) but only as far as Arfield who [stabbed home](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49141676).

The former Burnley man scored [ten goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/scott-arfield/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/55291) last season and was a [significant player](https://www.sundaypost.com/fp/scott-arfield-dismisses-crystal-palace-speculation-and-insists-he-is-settled-at-rangers/) for Steven Gerrard’s side – and it looks like he will have an equally [important role](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/scott-arfield-earns-major-praise-16525948) this year.

These Rangers fans are buzzing that Arfield opened his account for the season.
