# These Rangers fans were delighted with Joe Aribo’s performance

“What a player” – A lot of Gers fans were delighted with Joe Aribo’s first SPFL game – which Rangers [won 2-1](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49141676).

The new signing from Charlton [started](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49141676) for Steven Gerrard’s side – and showed [some glimpses](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/scotland/49230068) of what he could do at Rugby Park.

He was also denied his first league goal for his new club by Kilmarnock goalkeeper Laurentiu Branescu – who made [two outstanding saves](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/scotland/49230068) to deny Aribo in the second half.

Aribo supposedly turned down interest from [Premier League](https://talksport.com/football/562476/rangers-transfer-charlton-lee-bowyer-joe-aribo-premier-league/) clubs to move to Ibrox – and he is expected to [make an impact](https://www.footballscotland.co.uk/spfl/scottish-premiership/rangers-physical-attributes-joe-aribo-16473309) for the Gers this season.

The 23-year-old has already started well in Europa League Qualifying scoring [two goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joe-aribo/profil/spieler/468198).

These Gers fans were impressed by what they saw from Aribo.

Many Gers fans are delighted with what they have seen from Aribo already – and they cannot wait till he settles in properly.

> you’ve got the skills to pay the bills & playing on grass pitches you’ll show that, 10-15 goals guaranteed….no pressure man😁

> Well done big fella… now shuffling yourself 20 yards further forward against Hibs please, we need that goal threat 😉👍🏼

A lot of other Rangers fans are expecting a big goal return from their new creative midfielder. He [scored nine](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joe-aribo/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/468198) last season for Charlton – so Rangers fans can probably expect a similar return.
