# Gers fans react to links to Brandon Barker from Manchester City

“He’s very fast” – A lot of Gers fans have reacted to the news they will be signing [Brandon Barker](https://www.skysports.com/transfer/news/11788/11779899/rangers-close-in-on-signing-of-man-city-winger-brandon-barker) from Manchester City

[Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/transfer/news/11788/11779899/rangers-close-in-on-signing-of-man-city-winger-brandon-barker) are reporting that Barker will become Steven Gerrard’s[ninth signing](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/glasgow-rangers/transfers/verein/124) of the summer.

The winger was on loan at Hibernian during the 2017/18 season – and managed to make [27 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/brandon-barker/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/214927) where he scored [two goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/brandon-barker/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/214927) and provided [five assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/brandon-barker/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/214927).

Last season he was on loan at Preston North End but only managed to make [20 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/brandon-barker/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/214927).

It is fair to say that not many Rangers fans are impressed by this particular signing.

These Gers fans think that Barker will be a good squad player; however, they point out that the squad still needs additions in other areas of the field.

Other Rangers fans, though, are underwhelmed by the signing – and they would much prefer a return for [Ryan Kent,](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/ryan-kent-blow-rangers-leeds-18853753)but that looks unlikely to happen.
