# A lot of Gers fans were thrilled with Jon Flanagan’s display against Hibs

“You’d tackle your granny” – A lot of Gers fans were thrilled with Jon Flanagan – after he turned in a [solid display](https://www.footballscotland.co.uk/spfl/scottish-premiership/rangers-6-hibs-1-gers-16737322) at left-back during [Rangers 6-1 win](https://www.footballscotland.co.uk/spfl/scottish-premiership/rangers-6-hibs-1-gers-16737322) over Hibernian.

Flanagan was signed by Steven Gerrard [last year](https://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/rangers-sign-jon-flanagan/) – on a [free transfer](https://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/rangers-sign-jon-flanagan/) from Liverpool, and he has gone on to make [31 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jon-flanagan/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/145922) for Rangers.

Able to play as a [full-back](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jon-flanagan/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/145922) on either side of the pitch – the 26-year-old has found himself mainly at [left-back](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jon-flanagan/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/145922/plus/0?saison=&verein=124&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=) since moving to Ibrox, and it looks like he is starting to make that [position his](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jon-flanagan/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/145922/plus/0?saison=&verein=124&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=).

He is known as a [hard-tackling](https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2018/06/25/rangers-duo-jon-flanagan-and-nikola-katic-explain-their-playing/) no-nonsense defender – and his style of play has[endeared him](https://twitter.com/jon_flan93/status/1160947103247601669) to many Rangers fans.

These Gers fans loved his latest performance.

Others were just pleased with his latest display – and they believe he should be the Gers’ starting left-back.
