# Andy King could be an excellent signing for Rangers

Steven Gerrard is closing in on his [10th signing](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49352750) of the summer with Andy King set to join on a [season-long loan](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49352750).

However, many Gers fans [are split](https://twitter.com/RangersCulture/status/1161677311470637056) on whether they think he will be a good signing or not.

He has played[379 games](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49352750) for Leicester City and was part of the sides that won [League One](https://www.lcfc.com/news/428670/andy-king-a-recordbreaking-career-at-lcfc), sealed promotion from the [Championship](https://www.lcfc.com/news/428670/andy-king-a-recordbreaking-career-at-lcfc) and amazingly won the [Premier League](https://www.lcfc.com/news/428670/andy-king-a-recordbreaking-career-at-lcfc).

So, for a side that are looking to win their first trophy in [eight years](https://rangers.co.uk/club/history/honours/), King is a handy addition to the dressing room.

As well as this he also has [50 caps](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49352750) for Wales so he will bring a [lot of experience](https://www.rangersnews.uk/news/andy-king-brendan-rodgers-loans-leicester-city-midfielder-to-rangers/) to a side that is increasingly gaining [international recognition](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/glasgow-rangers/nationalspieler/verein/124) for its players.

Joe Aribo was the latest Rangers’ player to receive a [call-up](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/joe-aribo-opens-up-dream-18939058) from his nation following on from his [impressive start](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/joe-aribo-opens-up-dream-18939058) to his career in Glasgow.

Rangers now have [ten international players](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/glasgow-rangers/nationalspieler/verein/124) in the squad so King would be a good addition to an already experienced team.

Finally, the 30-year-old has proved to be a goal threat from midfield having [scored 67](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49352750) for Leicester and [two for Wales](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andy-king/profil/spieler/56872).

Last season Gerrard’s midfielders contributed [32 goals](https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/rangers/2018-19/top-scorers.html), so the addition of King should give them more goals from the middle of the park.

Overall, signing King on a [season-long loan](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49352750) is a low-risk deal – that could prove to be a masterstroke from Gerrard because of King’s immense experience and a knack for scoring goals.
