# “Hope you enjoyed your rest” – These Gers fans respond to James Tavernier

“Hope you enjoyed your rest captain” – A lot of Gers fans have reacted to James Tavernier’s post on Twitter.

Tavernier was given the [weekend off](https://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/17845133.filip-helander-looks-good-buy-four-things-learned-rangers-39-win-east-fife/) by Steven Gerrard – as Rangers gear up for their Europa League qualifier against [Legia Warsaw](https://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/17845133.filip-helander-looks-good-buy-four-things-learned-rangers-39-win-east-fife/).

The Rangers’ captain spent his weekend off watching his teammates beat [East Fife 3-0](https://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/17845133.filip-helander-looks-good-buy-four-things-learned-rangers-39-win-east-fife/) in the Betfred Cup in [tough conditions](https://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/17845133.filip-helander-looks-good-buy-four-things-learned-rangers-39-win-east-fife/) on a plastic pitch.

The fact that Tavernier has [congratulated the team](https://twitter.com/James_Tavernier/status/1163166351084703755) after their win has gone down very well with a lot of Gers fans.

The 27-year-old’s attention will now switch to getting his side into the [Europa League](https://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/17845133.filip-helander-looks-good-buy-four-things-learned-rangers-39-win-east-fife/) group stages.

These Rangers fans love Tavernier’s comments.
