Rangers have a real decision to make on what they do with Andreas Skov Olsen and Findlay Curtis in the summer.
Skov Olsen has a glittering continental CV, having won titles in Belgium and earned 40+ caps for Denmark.
The Danish star was labelled a marquee signing of intent to swing the Premiership title race in Rangers’ favour.
However, three months into his tenure, the £9 million man finds himself shadowed by a narrative he didn’t see coming.
The emergence of Rangers loanee Findlay Curtis has got everyone excited about his potential on the right flank. He has earned his first senior call-up to the Scotland squad and already looks a real threat in the SPFL Premiership at 19.
Do the Gers sign Skov Olsen, or do they take a gamble on the exciting youth prospect already flourishing?
The Skov Olsen gamble
There is no question that Skov Olsen has the quality to make a significant impact on the Rangers’ front line.
He produced 36 goal involvements for Club Brugge during the 2023/24 season, helping the team win the Belgian Pro League.
Rangers have an £8.6 million option to buy the winger, but he hasn’t done enough yet to warrant that price tag.
He’s created three big chances for the Gers forward line and completed four successful dribbles.
Olsen almost exclusively does his damage when cutting inside, but with James Tavernier being used less frequently, he doesn’t have that overlap option he craves.
Taking a chance on Curtis
With the emergence of Curtis at Kilmarnock, it seems like an unnecessary expense to sign Skov Olsen.
The Gers need to strengthen their midfield and striker options before splashing nearly £9 million on a winger who’s underperformed.
Rohl likes a player who is versatile, who can defend and attack from the front.
In Curtis’s time at Killie, he’s played a multitude of positions, filling in at right back and as a midfielder.
Curtis has already made a major dent in the Premiership title race, producing a perfect performance for Killie against Hearts.
He completed 100% of his dribbles (6 of 6) and was a constant thorn in Killie’s 1-0 victory.
His versatility, creative quality, and zero expense make him the perfect man for Rohl next season.

It’s clear that Skov Olsen has struggled to make an impact for the Gers in the first couple of months of his loan spell.
The Gers need funds to bolster their squad in other areas, especially with the rise of academy star Curtis.
With Curtis earning a Scotland call-up and showing his incredible versatility, he seems like the perfect option over Olsen next season.
