- Danny Rohl confirms Skov Olsen training update
- Manager commends Dundee United organisation
- Praises Fernandez and Curtis for international break
Danny Rohl has said that his squad understand what is required ahead of a crucial match in the Scottish Premiership title race.
Rangers welcome Dundee United knowing that victory will see them become Scottish Premiership leaders for the first time this season.
The importance of three points cannot be underestimated with two matches remaining until the split with the visitors also needing to win to keep alive their slim top six hopes.
Injury and Skov Olsen update
Danny Rohl confirmed that Andreas Skov Olsen has been training after missing the 4-1 win against Aberdeen before the international break.
The Dane has struggled for form since arriving on loan from Wolfsburg in January but Rohl was positive about his progress.
He said: “Andreas [Skov Olsen] was obviously out in our last league match but we have had a good and intense week.”
The manager also revealed that one player will not be included in the squad tomorrow but did not name the individual.
Squad are strong ahead of “difficult game”
Rangers are yet to win against Dundee United this season with both encounters so far ending in draws.
Rohl praised Jim Goodwin’s side before reiterating that their only focus is on the three points.
“I expect a difficult game, they are well organised and are an intense team but we are just focused on ourselves and we know what we need to do.
“I see the squad very strong at the moment and it is up to us to maintain high intensity, keeping the clean sheet and ultimately winning.”
International players praised by Danny Rohl
Rohl also praised Emmanuel Fernandez and Finlay Curtis for the achievements during the international break.
Fernandez scored his first goal for Nigeria on Tuesday evening with the centre-back scoring the second goal in a 2-2 draw against Jordan.
Meanwhile, Curtis, who is on loan at fellow Premiership club Kilmarnock was named in the Scotland squad and made his debut as a substitute in the 1-0 friendly defeat to Japan.
“It is great to see him [Fernandez] getting selected and doing well, he has stepped up and is now a regular starter.
“Also seeing Findlay Curtis making his debut was great and I am very happy for him.”
