- Rangers kick off the season split against Motherwell on Sunday
- The Gers have an added incentive with the James Tavernier news
- Danny Rohl’s team know only a victory will do in the title quest
This is it. Rangers kick off their split fixtures with an incredibly tough home game against Motherwell on Sunday.
Danny Rohl’s side comes into the game in goal-scoring form and with extra incentives to perform to their best.
The game on Sunday will be emotional after long-serving captain James Tavernier announced he was leaving at the end of the season.
Despite emotions running high, Rangers cannot afford distractions; they must overcome a powerful Motherwell side.
Motherwell sit fourth in the Premiership table and have five inductees into the Scottish Team of the Year.
Rohl’s side understands the title ‘is in our hands,’ but Motherwell have taken two victories in the last two seasons at Ibrox.
Will that theme continue, or will Rangers pick up where they left off before the warm-weather break?
