# Confirmed Rangers team news from Tannadice – McInnes opts for Naderi over Chermiti, Gassama starts

**Confirmed Rangers team news from Tannadice.**

Derek McInnes has named a couple of surprises in the starting eleven to take on Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership opener, with the inclusion of Ryan Naderi and Djeidi Gassama.

Dujon Sterling gets the nod ahead of Ross McCrorie, but other than that, the keeper and back four picks itself for this game.

Cammy Devlin and Mo Diomande are tasked with keeping the engine room running, while there is an onus on Thelo Aasgaard and the much-maligned Gassama to provide the creativity and service required for the strikers.

Up top, club captain Lawrence Shankland will play off Ryan Naderi, in what is an unexpected call.

The Dresden-native plays ahead of Youssef Chermiti, so it will be interesting to hear Derek McInnes’ reasoning behind that one. Possibly a niggle for Chermiti. who starts on the bench, as do new signings Olwethu Makhanya and Vanja Dragojevic.
