# How to watch Jagiellonia Bialystok vs. Rangers – Everything you need to know

**Rangers take on Jagiellonia Bialystok in the Europa League qualifiers on Thursday night in the north-east of Poland at 5PM (BST), so here is everything you need to know about the fixture.**

The game will take place at the Chorten Arena in Bialystok, Poland, at 6PM local time, then the return leg at Ibrox will be at 7:45PM next Thursday.

The winners of this third-round qualifying tie will go on to face either Northern Irish side, Larne or Georgian side, Iberia Tbilisi.

The team that loses the match-up will drop down into the Conference League play-offs, playing either FK Jablonec from the Czech Republic or FC RFS from Latvia.

## What do we need to know about our opponent?

Rangers avoided several other big sides in their qualifying round, such as Tromsø, Hammarby and Anderlecht, however they should not count out Jagiellonia Bialystok.

The Polish side have made it out of the Europa Conference League in their past two appearances in back-to-back seasons. In both campaigns they have only lost twice at home, so Rangers have a large task at Hand.

The club were crowned champions of the Ekstraklasa in 2024 for the first time and last season finished in third place tied on 56 points with second place and only four points behind winners Lech Poznan.

In the current 2026/27 season, Jagiellonia have won both their games in comparison to Rangers who drew against Dundee United on Friday. If McInnes wants to beat the Polish side, he must fix the issues in the team instantly.

### What has Rangers brought to this match-up?

[Nico Raskin](https://readrangers.com/2026/07/23/nico-raskin-rangers-departure-looming/)has been named amongst the Rangers European squad despite speculation around his future. The Belgian hasn’t played with Rangers since returning from the World Cup.

The addition of Raskin to the squad could be crucial for Derek McInnes’ team who also plays Hibs on Sunday at their first league match at home this season.

[John Souttar](https://readrangers.com/2026/07/28/john-souttar-returns-rangers-transfer/) has been left out of the squad after speculation of a move to several English clubs. Unlike Raskin, a move for Souttar seems more likely after being left out of McInnes’ Europa League sqaud.

South African defender Olwethu Makhanya was named in the European squad after signing with Rangers on July 30. However, the defender was having trouble with getting his Polish visa and it was unknown if he would travel with the team.

On August 4th Dr Zubir Ahmed who is an MP for Glasgow South West posted on his Facebook alongside Makhanya revealing that he was able to help him get his visa for Thursday night.

New signing Daisuke Yokota, who was announced as the latest signing on Wednesday morning, travelled straight from Glasgow to Poland with the team for tomorrow night’s match.

#### The European Squad

The defenders named were McCrorie, Sterling, Makhanya, Rommens and Fernandez.

The midfielders named were Neil, Barron, Diomande, Aasgaard, Devlin, Cameron, Yokota, Dragojevic, Gassama, Chukwuani and Raskin.

The forwards named were Shankland, Chermiti, Naderi, Miovski, McCausland and Gentles.

##### Are Thursday nights still for Rangers?

Thursday nights were once notorious for Rangers but after last season’s performance, Thursdays just became another day for Rangers fans. Once beating big teams like Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Fenerbahçe, Rangers have a lot to live up to.

McInnes must get the team selection right on Thursday night if he wants to ensure victory. After a rocky start [against Dundee United,](https://readrangers.com/2026/07/31/not-holding-back-derek-mcinnes-rangers-transfer-call/) it is crucial in what 11 players he starts.

With the addition of new players and new manager, Rangers could create something special this Thursday. It’s over to Poland for just now but in a weeks time Thursday nights under the lights may be back at Ibrox.
