# Rangers v Hibs: Sallinger Sends Ibrox Warning to the Gers

**Rangers v Hibs already has a needle to it before a ball has been kicked, with the visitors’ goalkeeper Raphael Sallinger firing an early Ibrox warning**.

The keeper has insisted he is unmoved by the noise around Derek McInnes’s side as the teams prepare to meet in Glasgow on Sunday.

The Austrian stopper takes confidence from Hibs having beaten Rangers at Ibrox last season, as well as picking up points at Celtic, and is refusing to be distracted by the pressure building on the home side.

## What Sallinger’s warning means for Rangers v Hibs

McInnes arrives at his first home league game under scrutiny after a stuttering start.

Rangers were held to a 1-1 draw at Dundee United on the opening weekend and then [slipped to a 2-1 defeat away to Jagiellonia Bialystok](https://readrangers.com/2026/08/06/jagiellonia-loss-brings-two-new-unwanted-euro-records-for-gers) in the Europa League qualifiers, leaving supporters anxious for a response.

Sallinger, though, is happy to let that unease work in Hibs’ favour.

> “I actually don’t care about that, and what they do,” he responded, when asked an abstract question about Lawrence Shankland and Cammy Devlin leaving Edinburgh for Glasgow.

> “We are more focused on ourselves because we have no impact on how they play or anything. So we focus on ourselves and trust our abilities,” [Sallinger told The Scotsman](https://rangersnewsfeed.com/i-dont-care-about-what-they-do-rangers-v-hibs-message-loud-and-clear-three-months-on/).

> ### Hibs set out to exploit Ibrox anxiety

Hibs’ boss David Gray will be inspired by their victory at Ibrox in May. His team know a similar situation can unfold today, if they can exploit the vulnerability in this Rangers team.

If they get on top, the anxiety from the stands will be felt on the pitch, and that can work to the visitors’ advantage.

It is exactly the kind of message the Ibrox faithful will want answered on the pitch. The Gers know that a slow start to a home fixture against a confident Hibs could quickly turn the mood, and McInnes has demanded a sharper, more ruthless edge from his players.

The stage is set for Sunday, with the Light Blues [hunting a first Ibrox win under McInnes](https://readrangers.com/2026/08/08/rangers-vs-hibs-mcinnes-first-ibrox-win). Silence the visiting keeper’s confidence early, and the narrative around this Rangers side could shift in an afternoon.
