# Mikey Moore certainty allows Rangers to proceed with priority winger transfer plan

**With Mikey Moore on the brink of a fresh loan move to Cologne, Rangers can proceed to firm up their own priority winger transfer plan.**

The mercurial Spurs attacker was a revelation in Glasgow last season.

From his initial struggles to shining through adversity and difficulty, the bond established between the player and fans reflected the overall success of his temporary stay at Ibrox.

Never fall in love with a loan player they say…

## Mikey Moore set to sign for Cologne

While there were hopes that Rangers could recruit Mikey Moore for another season, we can finally close the door on that prospect.

He will be remembered fondly, but all parties are now going their separate ways in what is an understandable situation.

Spurs want their player tested at, and exposed to, a higher level on a weekly basis, and the Bundesliga will provide that.

The straight loan, with no purchase option, is all but confirmed with the player expected in North Rhine-Westphalia this week.

Mikey Moore will shine in the German top flight, further adding to his experience and personal development.

### Rangers focus on winger priority

Moore was off the radar in recent weeks, but Rangers will continue to pursue priority signings.

As things stand, the club is working on targets on both flanks.

The deal for [left winger Couhaib Driouech](https://readrangers.com/2026/08/09/rangers-driouech-improved-significant-offer-psv) is still ongoing, with Celta Vigo also vying to sign the PSV Eindhoven player.

On the other side, Daisuke Yokota has arrived and the initial impressions are positive, but another significant option is expected at Ibrox.

Interest in Fares Ghedjemis is said to have cooled with Frosinone placing a hefty price tag on the Algerian international.

The latest report indicates that the [Serie A club is looking for €20 million](https://www.getfootballnewsitaly.com/2026/celtic-and-rangers-target-fares-ghedjemis-now-worth-e20-million/) to part with their prized asset, which would mean he won’t be coming to Rangers.

Expect further developments with signing targets this week.
