# Rangers’ Cozier-Duberry bid knocked back with “multiple” targets in the frame

**Rangers remain in discussions with Brighton and Hove Albion after the club’s latest bid for Amario Cozier-Duberry was knocked back.**

A £7 million offer has been rejected, with Brighton also fielding interest in the winger from various clubs around England and elsewhere in Europe.

Rangers are said to be pursuing multiple targets, as reported by the [Rangers Review](https://www.rangersreview.co.uk/news/26472098.rangers-continue-brighton-talks-7million-cozier-duberry-bid/), in line with the latest on the chase for Cozier-Duberry.

This is a delicate situation for Rangers, and an urgent one, given the need for quality on the wings, especially in the aftermath of the [failed Couhaib Driouech transfer](https://readrangers.com/2026/08/14/truth-emerges-couhaib-driouech-rangers-failed-transfer).

## Rangers transfer news update on Cozier-Duberry

Rangers next two games are the Conference League Playoff qualifiers against Jablonec, home and away.

Derek McInnes could do with a lift to get the tricky tie over the line, but that also applied to the Europa League showdown with Jagiellonia.

The Poles prevailed leaving Rangers to pursue Conference League action on the continent, but on both fronts, the Rangers squad is still not equipped for what lies ahead.

After the St Mirren game, McInnes detailed that he expects a couple of additions to follow in attack, with a player like Amario Cozier-Duberry essential to the plan.

The injury to Youssef Chermiti changes things slightly, with a new striker now required.

Kevin Kelsy is being pursued on a permanent deal, which could mean having to settle for one additional winger instead of two.

That’s a dangerous strategy and a risk for Rangers, given the extent of the challenges to come in the months ahead.

Chance creation will be essential if McInnes’ team is to stand a chance.

The current wide options of Yokota, Gassama, Curtis, and one other won’t quite fit the bill, to provide the required quality to carry the threat, incision and creativity that is required.
