# Why do Rangers have no game this weekend?

**Rangers have no game this weekend because the Scottish Premiership match against St Mirren (originally scheduled for Saturday 22 August 2026 at Ibrox) has been postponed.**

*Reason for the postponement*

Rangers are involved in the UEFA Conference League play-off round.

They played the first leg at home against Jablonec on Thursday, 20 August (1-0) and the second leg is away in the Czech Republic next Thursday, 27 August.

Scottish clubs still involved in European competition have the right to move domestic fixtures when they have European Playoff ties – this weekend.

Rangers (and all the other Scottish teams in a similar position) exercised that right, so the St Mirren game was shifted.\
\
There is some speculation that it will be played in between the two Celtic games in September. That is to be confirmed.

The rearranged date will be confirmed after UEFA qualifying finishes, next week.

Rangers’ next three scheduled games are:

- 27 August – Jablonec (away) – Conference League Play-off second leg
- 30 August – Aberdeen (away) – SPFL Premiership
- 2 September – Falkirk (Home) – SPFL Premiership

> All five Scottish clubs in Europe have opted to postpone the league fixture scheduled between the two legs of the play-off round.\
> \
> Celtic, Hearts and Rangers are guaranteed postponements. The other two will only be postponed if those clubs win their next two ties.\
