# Rangers transfer news latest updates and speculation – Monday 24 August

**With 10 days to go until the window closes in Scotland, there is plenty of business to do at Ibrox and here is all the latest Rangers transfer news and speculation.**

After the 1-0 win over Jablonec, [Derek McInnes](https://readrangers.com/tag/derek-mcinnes/) was clear that further incomings are required.

It’s clear to see that the team is still short of quality in a few key positions. The club is said to be working on at least one winger, and a striker to replace Youssef Chermiti.

Another option is needed in central defence and in the midfield, but those options could depend on players leaving the club.

“We do need to add to the squad, [said McInnes](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbQIY6db-Pg&list=PLA_dpgv6mpDZPxQBSQeAf5jMfSDNtA-ZG&index=1) after the Conference League Playoff first-leg win.

“It’s clear. But those players that we add will help get improvements from the ones here.

“So the improvements come from outwith, but the improvements also come from within.

“I think having a couple of additional options for us to play, high-level players that we’re trying to get, will help.

“We will get them, I’m pretty sure of that, but those improvements in terms of quality and creativity and the rest of it will make a big difference to this team.

## Rangers transfer news latest

As relayed by the [Rangers Review](https://www.rangersreview.co.uk/news/26486741.rangers-hold-fresh-kim-min-su-talks-raskin-approaches-received/) over the weekend, the club has held further talks with Girona over the signing of Kim Min-su, with Derek McInnes also expected to speak with the player “and other potential arrivals”.

The South Korean winger plays off the left and can also operate in an attacking midfield role.

Kim Min-su is said to have a [€10 million release clause](https://readrangers.com/2026/08/20/rangers-girona-kim-min-su/), with Rangers close to pulling the trigger on an agreement.

The chase for Portland Timbers striker [Kevin Kelsy](https://readrangers.com/2026/08/16/kevin-kelsy-rangers-transfer-latest/) has gone quiet for now, but Rangers are actively working on a replacement for Youssef Chermiti.

The Venezuelan featured in a 1-1 MLS draw with LAFC on Sunday, but it remains to be seen if he is a target that Derek McInnes will pursue further.

[Vaclav Cerny](https://readrangers.com/2026/08/20/rangers-target-vaclav-cerny-return/) was said to be under serious consideration, but that would be a very expensive deal (particularly in wages) as much as he would be a plug-and-play option.

### Speculation on Rangers transfer sales

Outgoing players represent essential business for Rangers to complete in the coming days.

Big question marks are hanging over a few players, who aren’t likely to remain in Glasgow for too much longer.

Nico Raskin, Connor Barron, John Souttar, Ross McCausland, Lyall Cameron, and Clinton Nsiala fit that description for different reasons.

It has been claimed that there is genuine interest in Raskin from clubs in England, Italy, and Spain – hopefully a deal can be done as we need to get a good fee for Raskin to sell and reinvest at the right time.

Barron is a strange one, but the direction of travel is clear. Cammy Devlin is not a better player, but clearly McInnes prefers the Australian. Barron is said to have interest from clubs in Italy and Spain, so it will be fascinating to see how that develops.

Raskin and Barron can bring in solid fees, respectively, while the others will depart for nominal amounts.

Further activity is expected this week as we enter the last 10 days of the Scottish transfer window.
