# Derek McInnes will struggle to explain this damning stat after Jablonec horror show

**Rangers were dumped out of the Conference League and out of Europe altogether after a horror performance against Jablonec.**

The Czech side were poor, but deserved to prevail on penalties, with [Derek McInnes](https://readrangers.com/tag/derek-mcinnes/)‘ team having no ideas, no creativity, no spark, and ultimately, no chance.

The manager is now under serious pressure after a miserable start to his tenure at Ibrox. He has been backed with serious money, but there is no sign of Rangers emerging into anything. The style and output are dire.

To sum up the misery in Czechia, Rangers had more changes of formation than shots on target through the 90 minutes of the game.

There were roughly four changes to the setup, compared to one shot on target.

That is the stat that there is no hiding from, and it will be a long way back for Derek McInnes to recover.

## Derek McInnes under serious pressure

The biggest problem for Derek McInnes is that there is no reason for optimism or belief.

His team has no redeeming qualities.

Even with the arrivals of [Minsu Kim](https://readrangers.com/2026/08/27/minsu-kim-kim-min-su-rangers-name-signing/) and [Kevin Kelsy](https://readrangers.com/2026/08/26/rangers-agree-second-biggest-signing-ever-kevin-kelsy/), if the latter is completed as expected, that doesn’t change the mess that is the collective dysfunction.

The supporters are irate at what they are seeing, and rightly so.

Within the next month, Rangers have Aberdeen, Falkirk, Motherwell, and Celtic in the league, as well as an Old Firm [League Cup](https://readrangers.com/2026/08/16/scottish-league-cup-quarter-final-draw/) date.

If McInnes doesn’t win at least three of those games, there will be serious doubt if he can see through the international break.

It’s ridiculous that were talking like this in August but here we are, once again.
