# Alex Lowry showing signs of recovery on the pitch at Motherwell

**[Alex Lowry](https://readrangers.com/tag/alex-lowry) has earned rave reviews for his performance for Motherwell against St. Mirren at the weekend.**

He played a full game in the dramatic 3-3 draw and recorded an assist, but he also stood out for his shooting and ball progression.

Alex Lowry is benefiting from playing games in an environment he is comfortable in, and that brings consistency.

That’s not to say that he will have a great game every week, but if a player is to develop, they need a run of games.

Lowry wasn’t afforded that at Ibrox, but he did get chances that he couldn’t fully exploit.

This was a player given Champions League exposure by Giovanni van Bronckhorst, while he secured his first goal for the club under Michael Beale.

Rangers’ loss could be Motherwell’s gain. Let’s see.

> No player created more chances (5), took more shots (5) or completed more dribbles (3) than Alex Lowry in Motherwell’s thrilling 3-3 draw with St Mirren yesterday.\

## Alex Lowry finding his way at Fir Park

Alex Lowry left Ibrox in January 2025, signing for EFL club Wycombe Wanderers.

His stint at the Chairboys hasn’t been the most fruitful, but now he’s back home with Motherwell and it’s a stylistic fit with player and team.

He will also have grown from recently competing over two legs against Freiburg, with the Bundesliga club outmuscling Motherwell in the Conference League, after coming through two previous qualifying rounds.

At just 23, he still has time on his side, but he will be keen to make up for lost time, having not played as many first team games as others at his age.

He seems to be finding form in a place that’s a good fit, on and off the pitch.

Good luck to Alex Lowry for the season ahead – let’s see how he fares at Ibrox on Saturday.
