# Amario Cozier-Duberry Championship loan confirmed

**Rangers will not be signing [Amario Cozier-Duberry](https://readrangers.com/tag/amario-cozier-duberry) in this window after the winger’s move to Middlesbrough was confirmed.**

Boro got the deal done in time for the 11pm deadline, with the update confirmed on the hour.

Earlier on Tuesday, it was reported that Cozier-Duberry had penned new terms at Brighton and would be going on loan to the Championship.

This is the next stage in the 21-year-old’s development after a successful stint in League One with Bolton last season.

Rangers had tracked the winger with serious interest, including a £7.5m bid earlier in the window, but Brighton were holding out for a bigger fee to part with their man on a permanent basis.

Amario Cozier-Duberry will now feature for Kim Hellberg’s side this season, where he could team up with [Connor Barron](https://readrangers.com/2026/09/01/rangers-exits-connor-barron-lyall-cameron).

At this late stage, we are waiting to learn if Boro have been able to complete a loan deal for the Rangers player who has effectively been frozen out under [Derek McInnes](https://readrangers.com/2026/09/01/derek-mcinnes-curveball-rangers-transfer-window).
