# Rangers transfer news – Must-read updates on eight potential Ibrox departures

**Rangers are preparing for further business up to the Scottish transfer deadline on Thursday, but there are more talking points around potential Ibrox departures.**

[Derek McInnes](https://readrangers.com/2026/09/01/derek-mcinnes-curveball-rangers-transfer-window) has spoken and it’s not an update that the fans were expecting or wanting to hear.

The manager has said it’s likely that only one more arrival will happen, presumably Kevin Kelsy, which raises the obvious question about the [right-wing berth](https://readrangers.com/2026/09/01/rangers-transfer-news-bouanani-trail-shows-club-still-pursuing-right-winger).

Rangers are open to sales and outgoing loans, with several players surplus to requirements.

As relayed by the [Rangers Review](https://www.rangersreview.co.uk/features/26513121.rangers-transfer-state-play-gassama-update-mcinnes-comments/), one player (firmly part of the squad) who won’t be leaving is **Djeidi Gassama**.

The Mauritania international has been the subject of interest from across Europe, but enquiries have been pushed back. The wee man will remain at Ibrox, and hopefully he can find consistency to replicate more performances like Sunday at Aberdeen.

## Doubt cast on Rangers departures before Thursday

The same can’t be said for **Nico Raskin**, whose future is up in the air.

He is available for sale, there’s a willingness between player and club for a move to happen, but as we speak, no bid has landed to change the situation.

From a football perspective, McInnes will happily work with Raskin if he stays, but the club and many fans had hoped this would be the time to turn a tidy profit on the Belgian international. Especially after his efficient World Cup performances for the Red Devils.

Another player who won’t be leaving is **Connor Barron**.

The midfielder has been largely overlooked so far this season, but the message is that he wants to stay and fight for his place.

Barron is said to have knocked back a loan bid from Hannover in Bundesliga 2, with the Daily Record also crediting interest from Spain.

**Bojan Miovski** will be allowed to leave if the Kevin Kelsy deal is completed, as expected.

Feyenoord enquired about the North Macedonian striker, while Celtic’s Champions League conquerors LASK are said to be interested, as are clubs in Turkey.

**Lyall Cameron** is close to a return to the city of Dundee, but to Tannadice and not Dens Park.

**Ross McCausland** and **Clinton Nsiala** are available, but nothing is imminent on that pair.

There has been no update on the status of **John Souttar**, with everything quiet on potential transfers away from Ibrox.
