# Hannah Blake Nets First Goal As Rangers Women Defeat Motherwell

Rangers Women maintained their flawless start to the SWPL season with a commanding 3-0 victory over Motherwell, as Hannah Blake netted her first goal for the club.

The New Zealand international, who arrived from Durham this summer, doubled the advantage shortly after the interval with a composed chipped finish.

Manager Leanne Crichton opted to make six changes to the starting lineup, demonstrating the impressive squad depth available this term.

While the broader club hierarchy navigates a busy window, recently seeing a [rejected Premier League forward bid](https://readrangers.com/2026/08/17/rangers-transfer-news-premier-league-forward-bid-rejected), the women’s setup remained focused on domestic duties.

## Breaking The Motherwell Resistance

The visitors were initially frustrated at The Bumblebee Stadium before an Ellie Macdonald own goal broke the deadlock just before half-time.

Following the break, Blake found the net to give her side a comfortable cushion and open her Rangers account.

Top scorer Katie Wilkinson was later introduced from the bench, highlighting the formidable attacking options at Crichton’s disposal.

Wilkinson sealed the points in stoppage time, dispatching a penalty into the bottom corner after Bailley Collins was brought down in the area.

## Looking Ahead To Aberdeen

As the Ibrox board finalises a [major Kevin Kelsy transfer](https://readrangers.com/2026/08/26/rangers-agree-second-biggest-signing-ever-kevin-kelsy), the women’s squad is clearly thriving across all areas of the pitch.

The team has now secured four consecutive league victories alongside three successive clean sheets.

Rangers will now pause for a two-week break before returning to action against Aberdeen on 20 September.
