# Ryan Naderi on Rangers Derby Win: We Won’t Fly Too High

## Naderi Winner Delivers Second Straight Old Firm Triumph

[Ryan Naderi](https://readrangers.com/squad/ryan-naderi/) scored the winning goal as Rangers beat Celtic 1-0 at Parkhead on Sunday.

It secured a second consecutive Old Firm derby victory for Derek McInnes’ side.

The Ryan Naderi Rangers Celtic winner came just a week after the Gers knocked Martin O’Neill’s Celtic out of the League Cup at Ibrox.

That win is detailed in [our earlier report](https://readrangers.com/2026/09/21/derek-mcinnes-rangers-celtic-reaction-ryan-naderi/).

Naderi, a 23-year-old German-born striker, is currently waiting for clearance to represent the Czech Republic at international level.

His derby heroics have made him one of the most talked-about figures at Ibrox this week.

He was in confident mood when he sat down to discuss the win.

Rangers have now beaten Celtic twice inside eight days, once in the cup and once in the league. That form has given the squad real momentum heading into the international break.

For a squad that has had to answer questions about consistency in recent seasons, back-to-back wins over their fiercest rivals carry extra weight.

## Match Winner Attributes Parkhead Success to Dressing Room Message

Naderi was open about how much the away win at Parkhead meant to the squad, [speaking to the media](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/rangers-refuse-fall-trap-strangled-37684527) after the final whistle.

He pointed to the collective effort that carried Rangers through a tense afternoon in Glasgow’s east end.

> “We have to stay together as a team, even in bad times and good. It’s important that we stick together now as a team and move forward.
>
> “Sunday was a really big win for us, honestly. Really big. With the win at home, we wanted to go there and show that we could do it away as well.

The striker also credited manager Derek McInnes for setting the tone before kick-off. The message from the dugout was simple: back up the home win with the same conviction on the road.

> “There was amazing fight from the whole team and a really good spirit. I’m just so happy to win there. The main point the manager tried to give us was that we’d done it at home, so we should take confidence from that going away. We did pretty well with that message.”

That blend of instruction and belief appears to have translated directly onto the pitch, with Rangers matching their home derby performance despite the initial hostile atmosphere.

They passed the test with flying colours.

## Defensive Compactness Drives Six-Game Winning Streak

Sunday’s win extended Rangers’ remarkable run to six straight victories, with five clean sheets included in that sequence.

McInnes’ side have now won eight of their last nine matches, a stretch in which the only goal conceded came via an own goal at Falkirk.

Naderi believes that defensive solidity is no accident. He described a squad that has bought into a shared responsibility out of possession, something he sees as the foundation of the team’s recent form.

> “You can see the togetherness by the goals we concede, not many. We have played a lot of games to zero.
>
> “That means we are very compact and we work together. We look at each other, where the person next to you stands, and think defensively. When you’re that stable, you will always have chances to score and then you win more games.”

It is a straightforward philosophy, but one that has clearly paid off.

Rangers’ ability to keep clean sheets against a Celtic side desperate to respond has been central to both derby wins, so far this season.

It underlines why the dressing room feels this run is built on more than just individual quality.
