# Hibs and Rangers fans shafted over December capital clash

**Hibs and Rangers supporters have been shafted as part of the latest SPFL Premiership live broadcast selections.**

On Monday, the latest live TV broadcasts were announced, with three of Rangers upcoming games impacted.

As usual, match-going supporters are inconvenienced, but Friday to Sunday fixture slots are generally within reason.

However, the date in Leith in December goes too far.

Hibs and Rangers have been scheduled to play on Monday 7 December at 8pm.

That is a ridiculous game slot in the interests of Sky Sports only.

Fans do not want Monday night football.

## Calamitous capital clash on the cards with Monday night TV slot

Hibs’ preceding game is away to Kilmarnock on Wednesday 2 December.

On the same night, Rangers host Dundee United.

There appears to be no other reason to wait five days for the sides to meet, other than a box-office game for Sky Sports to broadcast.

It is very unfair to match-going fans, and that sentiment has been shared on the respective social media channels of both clubs.

It’s not often you’ll find Hibs and Rangers fans on common ground, but maybe supporters across the board in Scotland need to send a reminder to the authorities.

It was collective action on the terraces in Germany that put an end to Bundesliga fixtures on a Monday night, as well as the plan for [external corporate investment](https://footballgroundguide.com/news/german-fan-protests).

If there is no meaningful response from the stands in Scotland, these types of fixtures will become a common occurrence.

That’s the reality.
