Minsu Kim has been called up to the South Korea Under-21 squad for an upcoming double-header against Mexico.
The maverick attacker has endured disappointment after not being recalled to the senior squad, but instead he will assist the under-age side as part of their long build-up to the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
Minsu Kim has been disappointing in his last two Rangers performances, with an underwhelming Hampden outing against Aberdeen following his off-night against Hearts at Tynecastle.
The 20-year-old is capable of so much more, as evidenced in recent weeks. Just as it seemed he was on the brink of hitting the goals, his form has went the other way.
Now, one Rangers game remains – away to St. Mirren on Saturday – before he turns his attention to international duty.
Minsu Kim’s Mexico double header
As detailed by the Herald, the South Korea U21 side will play their Mexico counterparts in two back-to-back friendly games.
At that level, he should be more comfortable, which will hopefully lead to making headlines.
Those games are scheduled for November 14 and 17.
What next for Minsu Kim?
It’s been a whirlwind start to life at Ibrox for the former Girona man.
At times, he has been blistering and explosive, at others, frustrating and lacking finesse.
It’s clear how talented Minsu Kim is, but he needs to ‘put it all together’.
He will get time and he deserves time. The lad is only 20 and has all the attributes to be a real star for Rangers.
