Mark Warburton has insisted that the transfer dealings of other clubs do not bother him – he welcomes the chase.
Warburton remains confident that even if the Ibrox side do not bring any fresh faces in before the deadline day, the current squad are good enough to win the Championship table.
Second place Hibernian have added players in the window, notably Anthony Stokes from the other side of Glasgow. Rangers on the other hand have secured the signature of Harry Forrester, Maciej Gostomski and today Hearts winger Billy King on a 6-month deal.
Warburton remains unconcerned with a perceived lack of business at the Ibrox club.
In a press conference earlier today, Warburton said:
“With the greatest respect to any team, it’s not about them, it’s about us. Don’t forget we are five points clear at the top of the league, are in the Petrofac Cup Final and have a Scottish Cup match next weekend.
“They are not doing badly – the squad is in good shape and we have been playing well.
“If we can find someone at the right value that adds the right quality, then we’ll do it, if not, then we are perfectly happy.
“It’s very hard to get business done in January. Teams are reluctant to lose their best players, so it is a difficult one, though it is nowhere near as difficult in the summer.
“We are making progress, and if we get one or two over the line, then fantastic, if not, then we are in a strong position.”
Warburton refused to comment on individual players but did rule out any panic buying at the lats moment by the Ibrox club.
