FORWARD Ryan Hardie makes the switch to Stark’s Park as Mark Warburton sends his youngster out to seek regular game time.
Ray McKinnon, Raith Rovers manager, has signed striker Hardie on loan until the end of the season.
Hardie, who is highly-rated, has made just four appearances for the Light Blues this season and just signed a new contract with the Scottish giants keeping him at Ibrox for two more years.
The move means he follows in the footsteps of Barrie McKay on making the move to Stark’s Park following the winger’s successful loan spell last season.
The Scottish Under-19 international’s move comes after Rangers and Raith got into a war of words earlier in the season over the player.
The ‘Gers requested and secured the early release of the 18-year-old from international duty with the Under-19s in Bulgaria ahead of their league match, which outraged Raith.
The club, situated in Kirkcaldy, believed the rules had been broken and asked Scottish FA’s compliance officer to contemplate whether Rangers had broken the rules or not.
Rangers replied by releasing a statement saying: “Neither Rangers nor David Weir acted wrongly in requesting the return from Under-19 Scotland duty of Ryan Hardie.”
