Rangers sign Declan John on loan from Cardiff City

Rangers have confirmed the signing of Cardiff City left-back Declan John.

The Welsh international joins the club on a season-long loan deal and can also operate further up the left side.

A player with Premier League experience at Cardiff City, John will provide good competition for the captain Lee Wallace.

John is in his final year of his contract at the Bluebirds and will be looking to impress during his time at Ibrox.

On the confirmation of the deal, the 22-year-old said:

Football is crazy, especially around the last few days of the transfers.

It’s such a massive club so as soon as I heard Rangers wanted to come in –  it was just a yes straight away.

The move to Glasgow will be John’s third loan spell away from South Wales. He has played at Barnsley and Chesterfield in the last couple of seasons.
