Glen Kamara has a big role to play for Rangers this season

Glen Kamara is a midfielder player who is on the rise – last season he came to prominence in Rangers’ second Old Firm win over Celtic at Ibrox.

The 23-year-old dominated the whole game – and perhaps more importantly won the midfield battle against Scott Brown.

This is no mean feat as Brown has caused Rangers numerous problems in the past – not least getting Alfredo Morelos sent off last year.

Kamara stood up to Brown and was instrumental in the second goal.

As he weaved his way through the midfield and rolled a ball through to Jermain Defoe – who dummied the ball and allowed Scott Arfield to score.

Kamara was signed from Dundee FC for £50,000 last January.

Kamara made 16 appearances last year scoring once and providing three assists, but he has that bit of quality in midfield that should allow him to stand out this season for Steven Gerrard’s side.

The reason he will be important though is because he is a box-to-box midfielder and those driving runs will propel his side forward – as well as allowing him to cover ground in his half.

The fact he out-performed Brown, who is one of the best players in the division, suggests that if Kamara gets a good run in the team then, he could play a massive role in any potential Rangers title push.
