Rangers forward Bojan Miovski has been included in North Macedonia’s upcoming squad for their World Cup playoff against Denmark, despite limited minutes at Ibrox.
International manager Goce Sedloski was unfazed by the former Aberdeen striker’s lack of recent game time in Scotland, expressing confidence in his ability to lead the line for his country.
Boss backs Bojan Miovski
Despite this being the first international window of the year and his first in charge of Macedonia, Sedloski revealed keeps “in contact with all the players” and is “happy with the form of the strikers at their clubs, including Miovski.”
He called on the 26-year-old to “seize the opportunity” to prove himself ahead of a crucial run of fixtures back at his club.
Denmark is do-or-die
Miovski will not face Celtic adversary Kasper Schmeichel, who is sidelined for the remainder of the season with a shoulder injury, nor will he contend with teammate Andreas Skov Olsen, who has been dropped from Brian Riemer’s Denmark squad.
North Macedonia need to win in order to keep their hopes of making the World Cup this summer alive.
Miovski and co travel to Copenhagen to face Denmark in the on March 26.
Should they progress they will face Czechia or Ireland in away in the final match on March 31.
If Miovski plays a major part in progression, it would be the highlight of a below-par season personally so far.
Signed by Russell Martin in the summer from Girona, Bojan Miovski has struggled to meet expectations since arriving in Govan.
He has scored 10 times in 35 Rangers appearances, a respectable tally, but four of those goals came against lower-league opposition in the Scottish Cup, while three came across two matches in early December.
Beyond that, goals have been sporadic, as have opportunities.

Bojan Miovski has managed just 58 minutes of football across Danny Rohl’s last six squad selections.
The German has chosen Ryan Naderi and Yousef Chermiti as his preferred front two.
He has met his expected goals (xG) in the Premiership, with four goals from a 4.14 expectation, hitting 14 of his 26 efforts on target.
However, this equates to roughly one shot per appearance in his 24 league outings, highlighting the broader issues Rangers face with creativity up front.
The forward has won just 34% of his duels this season, losing possession more often than he recovers it.
Not trusted in either of the recent Old Firm matches, Rohl’s faith in Miovski has waned.
With opportunities running out at club level, a strong showing on the international stage could be Miovski’s last chance to catch his manager’s eye.
