- Ashton Scally is one of Rangers’ brightest prospects
- The Gers fullback is generating interest from the best clubs in England
- There is a clear pathway into the first team if he signs a contract
Ashton Scally, a promising youth prospect at the Gers, has been attracting attention both locally and from top clubs in England.
The left back is still only 15 and turns 16 next month, with Rangers expected to give him a three-year deal.
Gers manager Danny Rohl is hopeful he can follow the same route as Kyle Glasgow, who signed a contract in January.
In recent years, the club has produced some extremely bright talent who have the pathway to play first-team football.
The fullback positions are berths that need strengthening, especially with Jayden Maghoma and Max Aarons returning to their parent clubs in the summer.
If Scally does sign a contract, does he get thrust into playing understudy to Tuur Rommens next season?

Ashton Scally in the first team next season?
Rohl has made it extremely clear that Scally has a pathway into the Rangers’ first team if he signs a contract.
The German manager wanted to include Scally and Glasgow in the Rangers squad that faced Annan Athletic earlier this year.
However, they were denied playing in the Scottish Cup because they were red-taped as they were still 15.
Next season, the Gers will be without Jayden Maghoma, who’s been on loan from Brentford this season.
The same can be said for Max Aarons, who’s struggled to break into the starting 11 and pick up first-team minutes.
Dujon Sterling is a player who can play at either RB or LB, but he’s hoping to secure the right back spot if James Tavernier leaves in the summer.
That leaves January signing Tuur Rommens, who’s been exceptional since joining this year.
There is no doubt Rommens will be the first choice next season.
Nevertheless, in the current climate, Scally has the chance to stake his claim as the back-up full-back.

An academy that keeps producing
The Gers academy has produced some excellent talent in recent years, including Scally and Glasgow.
The club recently lost 20-goal prodigy Chris Condy to Brighton and Hove Albion.
They also lost Alfie Hutchison and Oliver Goodbrand to Newcastle United last year.
Curtis has been exceptional for Kilmarnock this season, earning a call-up to the Scotland team.
He earned his debut in the 1-0 loss to Japan last weekend.
With so many top clubs after him, there is no doubt that Scally has the talent to be Rangers’ future first-team left back.
