- Rangers have opportunity to extend unbeaten home record
- Back-to-back away matches to title rivals Celtic and Hearts
- Season to conclude with a third visit to Falkirk Stadium
Rangers now know what lies ahead of them in the title race after the SPFL announced the post-split fixtures on Tuesday.
The news comes with Danny Rohl’s men second in the Scottish Premiership and a point behind league leaders Hearts.
The Gers will travel to Falkirk for the second time on Sunday before the split commences on 26 April with the visit of Motherwell to Ibrox.
Rangers aim to preserve unbeaten home record into 2026/27
Danny Rohl is yet to lose a home match in charge with his only black mark in the league being an away defeat to Hearts.
The Ibrox side are 15 home matches unbeaten and can extend that to 17 with victories against Motherwell and Hibernian.
The Steelmen are winless against Rangers in the league as are the Hibees with the Gers winning both home matches against them this season.
That coupled with Rangers record in Govan under the German and Rangers are in a strong position to extend their run.
Two home wins for the Gers would also set them up nicely for next season as the club have the opportunity to go into the curtain raiser on 1 August unbeaten at Ibrox in ten months.
Back-to-back away trips to title rivals in the space of six days
Sandwiched between both home fixtures are consecutive away trips to Celtic and Hearts that could define Rangers’ title charge.
The Gers have not tasted victory away to the Jambos this season, although they were victorious in their last Old Firm at Celtic Park.
However, Rangers have only lost one away match all season, compared to five for both their title rivals.
They have also conceded the least goals away from home (12), six less than Hearts (18) and 11 fewer than Celtic (23).
So, those statistics highlight that on both those counts, the momentum is in Rangers’ favour.
A third visit to the Falkirk Stadium to close out the season
Another point that sticks out from the post-split fixture list is a third trip to face John McGlynn’s men on the final day.
The decision to give the club another trip to Falkirk Stadium has riled the Ibrox support with Rangers closing out the regular season at the same venue on Sunday.
The Bairns have defied expectations on their return to the top-flight and have proven they can more than match a team on their day.
Therefore, it will be interesting to discover what reality is facing Rangers in five weeks time.
