- Dujon Sterling in court for drink and dangerous driving
- The court case must be a wake-up call for the full back
- Danny Rohl needs players fully focused on a title push
Rangers right back Dujon Sterling appeared in court yesterday, charged with dangerous driving and drink driving.
It’s alleged the Gers full back drove at excessive speeds on Queen Street, Hope Street, and West Graham Street in Glasgow on January 4th.
Sterling allegedly drove into other motorists’ paths and lost control of his car.
Within 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit of alcohol to blow is 22 microgrammes.
Sterling allegedly blew 60 microgrammes, nearly three times the legal limit.
Sterling did not enter a plea deal on Wednesday, and the case has been adjourned until May 5, 2026.

A wake-up call for Sterling
While the legal process has been ongoing, Sterling has continued to play for Rangers, making the right-back position his own.
Sterling won 100 percent of his aerial duels and 75 percent of his ground duels, showing complete physical dominance over his winger.
Sterling’s run in the team would suggest that Rangers have dealt with matters in-house, no matter what the eventual verdict is.
At the same time, representing a club of Rangers’ stature brings significant responsibility.
James Tavernier seems to be on his way out of Ibrox because of Sterling’s consistent performances.
If Sterling were to become a repeat offender with the law, the consequences could be terrible.
He could even face jail time for repeat actions, subsequently losing his spot and contract at Ibrox.
For now, Sterling must stay focused on the Rangers’ title push as they bid to secure title number 56.

Full concentration on the title push
The Gers find themselves in a title race for the ages, just one point short of Hearts.
Danny Rohl needs every player on song and without distraction, with the split only a game away.
Rangers face Falkirk away next, with Sterling expected to start given his performance last time out.
As Rohl has reiterated many times, every game from now until the end of the season is a cup final.
Rangers face Motherwell at home to begin the split before tough away games against Hearts and Celtic.
Right between those two games is the next time Sterling needs to be in court for his case.
Rohl will have a huge decision to make in those fixtures to see if Sterling is 100% focused on the task at hand.
Rangers then finish off the season with a home game against Hibs and away to Falkirk.
