- Rangers have injury worries for Falkirk, but the biggest challenge could come in defence.
- Danny Rohl’s team kept a clean sheet at St. Mirren, providing the basis for victory.
- Manny Fernandez is likely to return to the startling line-up on Sunday
Rangers have some problems to solve ahead of Sunday’s trip to Falkirk, but is it the question of defence or attack that needs answered first and foremost?
Danny Rohl has selection issues to consider over the weekend.
It has already been confirmed that Ryan Naderi and Tuur Rommens won’t be involved against Falkirk.
However, the injury problems casting a shadow over Ibrox just now could mean Andreas Skov Olsen and Mikey Moore are also absent.
Opportunity to win games – Danny Rohl
Speaking at Friday’s press conference, Danny Rohl expressed his belief that he has enough attacking quality at his disposal to overcome the onset of injuries.
As he continued to answer, the German coach went on to describe the importance of keeping the back door shut.
“In general, we have the last couple of weeks a lot of goals with different scorers, this is always great, said Rohl
“We have to use our chances we create again.
“At the weekend (Dundee United), we could score six, seven. But the other side we should also be honest with ourselves that they had the opportunity to make the 3-3.
“One long ball in behind and Jack makes a good save and we have to improve, for away games it is important to have a clean sheet.
“If you do this, you have an opportunity to win games.”
Rangers’ inconsistent away form
A look back at Rangers’ last three away games underlines the lack of conviction and consistency that has plagued this season.
For the same reasons, Sunday won’t be taken for granted, especially when John McGlynn’s team have had a fine breakout season after promotion from the Championship.
They will cause problems and Rangers need to produce the answers.
Last time on the road, the outcome was a 1-0 victory against St. Mirren.
Rangers did not play well and laboured for large parts, but the shutout was the catalyst for the three points.
Tuur Rommens solitary strike sealed the deal.

Against Livingston and Motherwell in February, the Gers couldn’t get the job done.
A 2-0 deficit in the former was too much to overcome and in the latter, not seeing the game out cost a valuable win.
The three games reflect that this Rangers side will always create chances and usually take them.
However, if they can’t keep a clean sheet, that’s where the problems arise.
Danny Rohl was right to articulate this point and the return of Manny Fernandez on Sunday should strengthen the resolve of the team to keep Falkirk out.
