As the fortnight break continues to drag in, thoughts are increasingly turning to Sunday and the team that Danny Rohl will select to take on Motherwell.
After the conclusion of the Falkirk game and the numerous positive contributions made, the vast majority of those who started the second half against John McGlynn’s side will line up at Ibrox.
Even most of the subs made their mark, including Max Aarons taking a booking for the team and Oliver Antman making a very late impact to set up the brace for fellow sub, Bojan Miovski.
The upcoming game against Motherwell, Rangers’ first of the final five fixtures, gives Danny Rohl the best type of selection problem.
How will Rangers line up against Motherwell
The starting line-up against Falkirk was:
Butland, Tavernier, Djiga, Fernandez, Meghoma, Raskin, Chukwuani, Moore, Gassama, Aasgaard, Chermiti.
Miovski, Aarons, Barron, Diomande, and Antman all featured from the bench.
The key change should be in the approach, and that is likely to happen at home.
4-2-3-1 should revert to the more suitable 4-2-2-2.
The next variable will be the big injury updates from Rohl, regarding the status of the likes of Mikey Moore, Tuur Rommens, and Ryan Naderi.
From that trio, it would be a massive surprise if it wasn’t just Moore who is fit and available, but the next update won’t be given until the German speaks to the media on Friday.
If the Spurs loanee is fit, the only question in attack will be if Miovski or Aasgaard partners Chermiti, depending on the approach.
That leaves the other selection dilemma between James Tavernier and Dujon Sterling for the right-back spot.
At exactly the right time, on the back of the warm-weather training camp in Spain, Danny Rohl should be unleashing a hungry, determined team to secure the points against Motherwell.
The countdown continues.
