- Rangers are preparing for the trip to Tynecastle on Monday evening
- The Gers have recovered from two goals behind in their last two matches
- Rohl believes this shows his players’ ability to recover from difficult starts
Rangers have not started their last two matches against Falkirk and Motherwell very well, it is fair to say.
The Gers were two goals behind at the Falkirk Stadium before a remarkable recovery to win the game by six goals to three.
Meanwhile, Rangers also found themselves trailing early doors in the recent encounter at Ibrox against Motherwell.
However, in the press conference previewing the Hearts clash, Rohl was quick to look at the positives:
“This is the positive way, if you want to take something from this out, the team is able to come back.
“This is also a big quality that we improved and developed in the last couple of weeks and months.”
Rohl’s comments demonstrates the mentality of the players
Rohl went on to mention that “you always have the feeling, one signal and we can come back in the game.”
What this highlights is there is a resilience in this Rangers team and a collective mindset to never give up, especially when the beginning of matches are not going in their favour.
A rarity of the German’s tenure as manager so far is league defeats, with the Motherwell loss just the second suffered under Rohl.
That is one explanation for why there is such a strong feeling, certainly amongst Rohl and the players, that when Rangers find themselves behind they can recover, as they have done time and time again.
Manager’s belief in squad is needed more than ever after defeat
What this also demonstrates is the belief that Danny Rohl has in every Rangers player that is on the pitch.
The reaction is always visible with the players clearly refusing to let heads drop and fight for the badge.
That drive which has slowly become a cornerstone of Rohl’s Rangers has supported the players through difficult moments in matches and allowed them to come out the other side.
However, that was not the case against Motherwell with the visitors snatching a late winner.
A response is required against Hearts on Monday and even if they fall behind early on in Edinburgh, the players will need to remember the belief their manager has that they can turn the game on its head.

Anything other than a win at Tynecastle would not only kill off Rangers title ambitions but call into question the character and resilience of each and every player.
A positive result would reinforce all these qualities that Danny Rohl has spoken about.
Not only that, it would after the Motherwell loss, prove that Rangers can not only recover from losing positions in matches but also potentially fatal defeats.
