- Danny Rohl details the backing he has from Andrew Cavenagh and the senior executives at Ibrox
- He was adamant that he will be in charge next season
- Rohl is under signifcant pressure after the collapse in the title race, at least in the eyes of the fans
Danny Rohl was adamant that he has the backing of Andrew Cavenagh and the Ibrox hierarchy to lead the club into next season.
The German coach was speaking at Tuesday’s press conference, ahead of the SPFL Premiership meeting with Hibs on Wednesday.
Rohl relayed conversations with senior figures at the club, and without divulgng too many details, he made it clear that he will be in place for the 2026/27 campaign.
Danny Rohl relays the message that he will lead Rangers next season
As the old adage goes, a manager has full backing until he doesn’t.
Many questions have been asked of Danny Rohl after the Celtic defeat condemned the club to third place in the league table this season.
In the eyes of the supporters, he is under serious pressure, but he painted a picture of a more nuanced situation behind the scenes.
When asked if he had received Cavanagh’s backing, the Ibrox boss was unequivocal.
“Yes. I think the last 48 hours was, like I said, unbelievable.
“The support from the board, everyone around me, sees a lot of positive things, but we are also critical of ourselves. There’s no question mark.
“The most important thing, as I have said many times, we have to take all the information we need in the new season.
We know the reality of where we are
He was then asked if the conversations were specifically with the club chairman and on the way ahead.
Rohl responded, “All of them, yeah, really all of them.
“I think this is at the minute a great thing. There’s not just one person around me, there are more people around me, everyone supports me really well, and we are really honest with each other.
“It’s not that we are lying or we make it better than it is, we know exactly the realities at the moment. Three defeats in three important games where we couldn’t deliver, and from this point we have to go forward.
“This is now the last five or six games. Like I said, it’s important that we have a strong finish.”

Rohl’s predesssor received signifcant backing as well.
As ever, results will determine the manager’s future.
There may be nothing on the line, but Rohl badly needs two wins against Hibs and Falkirk to round off the season.
Nothing else will do, but a the same time, he won’t get any new credit for adding the six points to the league tally.
It would be bad enough to not win the final home game of the season, never mind a fourth consecutive defeat.
As it stands, the club is backing their man.
Most decisions carry an element of risk. Rangers must feel this one carries less jeopardy than the prospect of ripping it up and starting again.
That’s fine, as long as the cycle doesn’t repeat itself come Autumn.
Danny Rohl no longer has a margin for error.
