Nicolas Raskin Rangers Transfer Uncertainty Gives McInnes Early Call

Nicolas Raskin has addressed fresh uncertainty over his Rangers future while away with Belgium at the 2026 World Cup.

The Nicolas Raskin Rangers transfer debate has sharpened after The Scottish Sun reported that the midfielder was asked about interest from Atalanta following Belgium’s 1-1 draw with Egypt. Raskin did not commit either way, instead making clear that his current focus is on Belgium and that transfer decisions sit with his representatives.

For Rangers, that answer keeps the door closed publicly.

It does not quieten the wider noise.

Raskin Decision Could Shape Rangers Rebuild

Raskin is no longer just another squad asset at Ibrox. He is one of the few Rangers players with genuine resale value, European interest and a World Cup platform capable of changing the price of any summer conversation.

ReadRangers has already covered how Nico Raskin’s Rangers future came under fresh scrutiny, and this latest update only adds to that uncertainty.

Derek McInnes has only just arrived as Rangers manager after signing a three-year deal, so Raskin becomes one of his first major squad decisions.

Rangers can build around the Belgian’s energy, bite and ball-winning edge. They can also treat a strong international summer as the moment to cash in and fund a wider rebuild.

That is the tension.

Raskin has kept the public message calm, but his situation is now one of the most important at Ibrox. If Atalanta interest develops, Rangers must decide quickly whether he is part of McInnes’ core or one of the assets used to reshape it.

For now, Raskin’s focus is Belgium.

Rangers’ focus has to be control.
