Former Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack has confirmed he is leaving Esenler Erokspor, opening the door to the next move of his career after two years in Turkey.
The 34-year-old, part of Rangers’ 2020/21 title-winning squad and a Scottish Cup final scorer in 2022, has brought his spell with the Istanbul club to an end, according to a fresh update from The Scottish Sun.
Jack moved to Esenler Erokspor after his Rangers exit and had been playing in Turkey’s second tier. His departure now makes him a free agent again, with the midfielder understood to be looking forward to whatever comes next.
Jack’s Rangers Link Still Gives The Update Extra Weight
The story lands at an interesting point for Rangers supporters because Derek McInnes is now in charge at Ibrox. McInnes knows Jack well from Aberdeen, where he made him captain before the midfielder crossed the divide to Rangers in 2017.
That does not make an Ibrox return likely, and there is no suggestion of a Rangers move in the report. But Jack remains a familiar figure to supporters after more than 200 appearances, one league title, a Scottish Cup triumph and a run to the 2022 Europa League final.
With James Tavernier also gone, Rangers have fully moved beyond the 55-title squad. Jack’s next step will be watched with interest, partly because of his own status and partly because McInnes’ rebuild has already sharpened focus on players with proven Scottish Premiership pedigree.
