Rangers Women have been drawn against SK Slavia Praha in the UEFA Women’s Champions League second qualifying round, with the tie set for Wednesday, August 5.
The club confirmed the draw after UEFA’s process in Nyon, placing Rangers in a four-team league-path mini tournament alongside Slavia, AFC Ajax and Brondby IF. The winners of Rangers’ semi-final will meet the winners of Ajax v Brondby on Saturday, August 8, with a place in the third qualifying round at stake.
Rangers Women handed clear European route
Fixture details, including the host venue and kick-off time, are still to be confirmed, according to Rangers’ official update on the UWCL draw.
The draw gives Rangers a defined first European target after a domestic season that again raised expectations around the women’s side. Slavia Praha bring established continental pedigree, while Ajax and Brondby ensure the path is demanding even if Rangers clear the opening hurdle.
For Rangers, the immediate focus is preparation under head coach Jo Potter. A one-venue mini tournament leaves little margin for recovery or selection error, and the August schedule means the club can now build pre-season around one sharp European assignment rather than an abstract qualifying campaign. It also gives supporters a clear date for the next step in Rangers’ European push.
