Sealed with a cake...Rangers latest signing revealed in surprise way

Rangers’ latest summer signing has been all but revealed, with Vanja Dragojevic pictured holding up a cake adorned with club colours.

Yes, sealed with a cake, not a kiss.

While the transfer of the €5.5 million Partizan Belgrade midfielder is yet to be officially confirmed, the deal is thought to be moving toward completion.

Speaking on the Rangers Review morning briefing on Monday, Joshua Barrie and Chris Jack described how red tape, visa requirements, etc, were holding up confirmation of the transfer, but that hasn’t stopped another type of celebration of the news in Serbia.

Social media has provided content, believed to be a family party, with Vanja Dragojevic holding up a Rangers-themed cake.

Dragojevic announced as a Rangers player, squad number and all, by his Godmother on Insta is exactly what the transfer window was made for.

End of pre-season and further transfers ahead

The last week of pre-season is now upon us, with public Ibrox friendlies against Saint Etienne and West Ham, on Wednesday and Sunday, respectively.

More Rangers transfer news is expected after Derek McInnes teased a potential double signing to follow soon.

Conversely, departures are also expected – and required – with Nico Raskin thought to be the subject of serious interest from clubs on the continent.

He has been linked with a €20 million move to Villarreal, which would be a great platform for the Belgian international to push on and further raise his game and consistency.
