Rangers confirm Hampden Park clash against Aberdeen

Rangers will face Aberdeen in the domestic cup semi-finals after eliminating Celtic during a three-goal shutout at Ibrox.

Manager Derek McInnes will face the club he previously managed for eight years when his side travel to Hampden Park. The Ibrox boss successfully targeted a defensive focus throughout the quarter-final to overcome their unbeaten visitors.

Goals from captain Daniel Neil and forward Kevin Kelsy secured the knockout triumph. The squad nullified the opposition attack entirely, overcoming a motivated Celtic squad and navigating a high-stakes domestic encounter without conceding.

Hampden Park Reunion Confirmed

The last-four fixture is scheduled to take place on the weekend of October 31 and November 1. Aberdeen secured their progression by defeating Kilmarnock on penalties during their respective quarter-final tie.

The matchup presents a significant tactical challenge for McInnes as he targets his first piece of silverware in Glasgow. The manager maintains a flawless playing and managerial record in Old Firm derbies following the weekend result.

His squad will carry significant momentum into the national stadium after dispatching their city rivals so comprehensively. McInnes must now prepare to dismantle his former employers in pursuit of a final appearance.

The other side of the knockout bracket features an Edinburgh derby, with Hearts scheduled to play Hibernian.

Ticketing and television broadcast arrangements will be confirmed in due course.
