Rangers winger Kim Min-su has earned his first senior South Korea call-up after helping Derek McInnes’ side to an undefeated five-match streak across all competitions.
South Korea head coach Robert Moreno selected the 20-year-old for four upcoming friendlies, beginning against Ecuador on 24 September.
The international schedule concludes against Uzbekistan on 6 October, just four days before Rangers host Kilmarnock at Ibrox.
Kim joined Rangers from Spanish side Girona for £8.5 million and started Sunday’s 3-0 Premier Sports Cup victory over Celtic.
Upon his arrival, McInnes told the official Rangers website: “Min-Su is a talented young player with excellent technical ability, energy and a real desire to develop, and we are looking forward to working with him.”
Strategic Dilemma For Derek McInnes
The congested fixture list creates a selection challenge for McInnes. Following a recent financial standoff involving John Souttar, preserving squad depth remains essential.
To mitigate Kim’s travel fatigue, the manager could rotate his attacking options by deploying Findlay Curtis or Djeidi Gassama on the flanks.
This approach aligns with a recent strategic youth shift underway at Ibrox, ensuring Rangers sustain their attacking momentum in the final third without overexerting their squad.
Rangers return to Scottish Premiership action on Sunday when they travel to face Celtic.
