Rangers forward Ryan Naderi expects Czech Republic call-up

Rangers attacker Ryan Naderi is poised to finalise his international allegiance to the Czech Republic after holding direct talks with national team general manager Pavel Nedved. The 23-year-old, who transferred to Ibrox Stadium from Hansa Rostock in January, is anticipated to feature in upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures against Croatia, England and Spain. The former Borussia Monchengladbach prospect was born in Dresden and remains eligible for Germany, but previously rejected an approach from the Bulgarian football association.

International Recognition Validates Tactical Growth

Nedved, who won the Ballon d’Or in 2003, is driving the effort to secure Naderi after his profile surged under Derek McInnes. The forward has registered six goals in 21 appearances since his £4.3million switch, continuing his development following a controversial VAR decision in recent cup action. According to the Daily Record, Naderi already possesses the relevant citizenship but must travel to Prague to collect his passport before making his senior debut. His impending international breakthrough supplies McInnes with a confident attacking option as the manager considers his tactical key against Aberdeen later this autumn. “My story is that my mum is from the Czech Republic. My grandma lives there too, so I can speak Czech,” Naderi said in quotes carried by the Daily Record. He added: “It’s not as good as it used to be because I was still at school when I’d visit. I used to go there on holidays.” Rangers travel to Celtic Park for their next Premiership fixture on Sunday.
