Ahead of the weekend’s stand out fixture in the Championship this weekend the Rangers and Hibernian bosses are at logger heads after inflammatory comments made during the week. Alan Stubbs brings his Hibs side to Ibrox on Sunday and will be hoping to avoid another thumping defeat, following Mark Warburton’s Rangers side winning 6-2 when the sides met in the Scottish Challenge Cup.

With many tipping the Light Blues and Hibs to be at the top of the table come the end of season the game did not need much build up for the fans, clubs, players or media. Considering the recent controversy between the clubs around the Scott Allan transfer the hope was that normality would return. Alan Stubbs however fired a shot across the bow of the Rangers ship as he made the comment that Mark Warburton has had a “very easy” task in moulding a side he thinks can take the Gers back to the Premier League.
Warburton responded to these spiky comments from his counterpart by urging those managers without the facts to “keep his mouth shut” and “concentrate on his own team.” The former Brentford boss went onto to say “it must be easy to manage Man United and Real Madrid” with the former currency dealer stating “I know what we’ve spent and it’s a complete fallacy.”

Rangers will go into Sunday’s clash confident that they will continue their impressive start to the season under the stewardship of Mark Warburton and former Rangers Captain David Weir, who have come in and focused everyone’s attention on the events happening on the football pitch for the first time in a number of years. All eyes will certainly be looking out for any interaction between Warburton and Stubbs when they come face to face on the Ibrox touch-line.
