Ironically, it was ten years to the day since Inverness recorded a win over Rangers at Ibrox. It was a 1-0 win for them that day; how fitting then that Rangers get their own back a decade later by the same scoreline in the reverse fixture.
Having played so well whilst controlling the match at Pittodrie a few weeks ago, this time around Rangers got exactly what they deserved.
We were terrific in possession throughout and were good value not just for the victory, but for more than just the one goal we picked up.
Kenny Miller was the man Warburton picked to play through the middle – a decision well made in the end.
A marauding run from Lee Wallace on the left side ended with his superb cross to Kenny Miller at the back post – who volleyed with perfection past Inverness’ keeper Owain Fon Williams.
That was Kenny’s 100th goal for Rangers. No one can deny how much of a fantastic servant he has been for our club.

Inverness barely caused us any problems except from a free header in each half.
But overall, at last, we looked solid enough at the back and covered well when we needed to.
Numerous chances for Waghorn, Holt and the once again exceptional Kranjcar could have made it a much more comfortable night for Rangers.
The three points were well earned, however, and it was good preparation for the League Cup semi-final next week.
Below are my ratings for the players:
