RANGERS new boy Emerson Hyndman scored late against Motherwell to secure a 2-0 victory before picking up the man of the match award.
Rangers forward Michael O’Halloran and Motherwell’s Scott McDonald both received early red cards for two separate challenges.
O’Halloran, who has been linked with a move to the Steelmen, caught Carl McHugh on his thigh after three minutes.
The latter missed a great chance to put the home side ahead before his bad lunge on Kenny Miller.
Veteran Miller scored his third goal in a week against Motherwell late into the second half. That strike followed his double in the dying minutes in the Scottish Cup game at Ibrox.
The Glasgow side fourth win this season over Motherwell meant they moved into second place over Aberdeen.
After a slow first half, Rangers started the second quickly and eventually found a breakthrough. Captain Lee Wallace swung in a low cross which fell nicely for Miller to put away.
Hyndman, on loan from Bournemouth, wrapped the game up smashing the ball past the keeper from the edge of the box.
The 20-year-old American international wrote on Instagram:
“Good win and performance today. Great support from the fans throughout. Thankful to have scored my first goal for @rangersfc”
