Rangers take on Slovenian side Maribor tonight in the third qualifying round of the Europa League.
The Gers will be without Declan John, Jordan Rossiter, Graham Dorrans and Lee Wallace for the first leg of the European tie.
It is also believed that midfield maestro Ryan Jack will be out of action due to the head injury he received in the 1-1 draw at Pittodrie.
New Croatian full-back signing, Borna Barisic, is also ineligible to feature.
Maribor have beaten Partizani and Chikhura Sachkhere in their two previous rounds, while Rangers overcame Shkupi and Osijek.
The Slovenian side do have an impressive record in Scotland, beating Celtic and Aberdeen in European qualifiers in 2015 and 2016.
Gerrard, still unbeaten as Rangers manager, said about the tie (via Goal):
They are a good team, they have a bit of Champions League experience, will be feeling very confident so they come to Ibrox in a good place. It will be a difficult challenge.
Maribor boss, Darko Milanic has also spoken about the draw (via Goal):
Rangers will be extremely motivated. We know their mentality, especially in their home stadium, where they are always focused on attack. We have a strategy to get home with a positive result that will enable us to get through. We also need to know how to endure the game, because there will be tension from the crowd, but we have to answer correctly on the field. We have to hope to play, have a desire to win possession and settle down the hosts.
It will be a thrilling 90 minutes at Ibrox and entertaining tie overall, with the winners facing either FC Usa or Progres Niederkorn, who knocked out Rangers last season at the first qualifying stage.
