Andy King could be an excellent signing for Rangers

Steven Gerrard is closing in on his 10th signing of the summer with Andy King set to join on a season-long loan.

However, many Gers fans are split on whether they think he will be a good signing or not.

He has played 379 games for Leicester City and was part of the sides that won League One, sealed promotion from the Championship and amazingly won the Premier League.

So, for a side that are looking to win their first trophy in eight years, King is a handy addition to the dressing room.

As well as this he also has 50 caps for Wales so he will bring a lot of experience to a side that is increasingly gaining international recognition for its players.

Joe Aribo was the latest Rangers’ player to receive a call-up from his nation following on from his impressive start to his career in Glasgow.

Rangers now have ten international players in the squad so King would be a good addition to an already experienced team.

Finally, the 30-year-old has proved to be a goal threat from midfield having scored 67 for Leicester and two for Wales.

Last season Gerrard’s midfielders contributed 32 goals, so the addition of King should give them more goals from the middle of the park.

Overall, signing King on a season-long loan is a low-risk deal – that could prove to be a masterstroke from Gerrard because of King’s immense experience and a knack for scoring goals.
